There is a myriad of reasons why students sign up for overseas tours, from curriculum, to culture to community service.
Regardless of the reasons why, all students will come back having experienced and seen something new. Taking students out of their comfort zone, yet still in a safe environment allows them to push themselves, allows them to find their strengths and weaknesses, it will help them to become more confident individuals.
“My time in Cambodia was fantastic!
It was amazing how many new people we met and the smiles which we saw on faces every day. It was great how much we accomplished in such a small amount of time. I am so blessed and happy to say that we have changed the lives of a lot of families and students who we met along the way. It was great gaining new building skills and going out of my comfort zone.
I wouldn’t trade the knowledge I’ve gained and the experience I’ve had for the world. I will definitely miss all of the students at Bryn’s School in KTK. I hated leaving them; they were all so upset. It was great that after only seven days of being at their school; teaching them, painting their classroom and building their library, how attached and bonded we all got to each other. It was so sad to leave, but I am definitely going to come back, there’s no doubt about it.
I really enjoyed all of the house building and seeing it all happen. It was so rewarding how grateful the family were after we gave them something that they will have for a long time and something they will never forget”.
